Toadlicker

… So Good for the community

Toadlicker doesn’t just look good and taste good, it feels good too. 25% of profits from all sales of Toadlicker go to Brighton’s Fitzherbert Community Hub - “four established, local organisations with a shared vision of progressively and determinedly reducing food poverty and social isolation in East Brighton by providing a space where local people come together to eat, form lasting relationships, exercise and belong”.

The four organisations are: The Real Junk Food Project, Brighton Table Tennis Club, Voices in Exile and St John the Baptist Church.

Our multi-award-winning Original Pale Ale (Shaka), infused with Grapefruit! A trio of American hops: Cascade & Chinook deliver refreshing high notes of pine, and lime zest, while Citra brings softer, juicier orange and peach. We then added a high quality pure grapefruit extract for a refreshing twist. This beer is brewed with malted wheat and barley for a full body and subtle malt character which allows the hops to shine.

Hand in Hand

We’ve been fans of David Shrigley’s work forever, so we were beyond stoked when he walked into our tiny Hand in Hand brewpub in Brighton a few years ago.

Finding out Shaka - our award winning pale ale - was his new favourite beer gave us the idea about making a beer with him. David came up with the name Toadlicker and of course the brilliant artwork and accompanying words. The brew team came up with a twist on his favourite beer, adding a high quality pure grapefruit extract to boost those tropical flavours.

This whole thing is what we’re about. Working with great artists to create something special and unique; something that tastes good and looks good; something for everyone; something bold, colourful and joyful - inside and out. And to top it off, something that goes towards our community - 25% of profits go to the Fitzherbert Community Hub, a charity close to David’s heart and ours.
